Position: Chef
Location: Middle Park Bowls Club, 101 Canterbury Road, Albert Park, Middle Park VIC 3206 on 96 tram line.
Part Time Role - Days & Times: Wed-Fri 3pm-9.30pm & Sunday 12-6pm..
Salary: Award Rates based on experience.
Are you a passionate chef with a Certificate 3 in commercial cooking or the relevant experience who loves creating hearty pub-style meals and catering for special events? We’re looking for a talented and motivated chef to join our team at the Middle Park Bowls Club. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a lively, community-focused club that serves up delicious food for regular members, the community and special guests at events.
About Us:
Here at the Middle Park Bowls Club we pride ourselves on offering a friendly, welcoming environment where locals can enjoy great food, drinks, and the game of lawn bowls. We’re looking for a chef to bring fresh energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to our kitchen, providing delicious pub style meals to our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of pub-style meal, including classic dishes like Sunday Roast , Burgers, Pizza & Pasta etc.
Create seasonal specials and help develop the menu to keep it fresh and exciting.
Work alongside the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and a positive dining experience for guests.
Ensure food is prepared and presented to the highest standards in line with food safety regulations.
Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and maintain quality. Assist in menu planning and pricing for events, considering customer preferences and dietary requirements.
Manage a small team of kitchen staff when required, ensuring a positive and supportive environment.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a chef or in a similar kitchen role, preferably in a pub or catering environment. A strong passion for preparing and serving classic pub meals. Experience catering for events and functions, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure. A keen eye for detail, with a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality food. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. A valid food safety certification or willingness to obtain one. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
